le slouch

voila! le slouch!

love that buttery yellow hue

looks pretty good from the back too!

Specs:
Pattern: Le Slouch by wendy
Yarn: rowan summer tweed in butter (70% silk, 30% cotton)
Needles: size 8 and 9 dpns
Mods: none

this beret is for my friend coco who is not a fan of wool (sad, i know, but there are many out there who do not understand the magical fiber that is wool). luckily, this silk/cotton blend is perfectly lightweight. in fact, you can hardly tell your wearing it. and it's just oh-so-chic. love it.

i've also started (and restarted and restarted and restarted) the EZ practically seamless baby sweater. it's going better this time. pictures to come later.

  3. Hi
I am in the Uk and have just bought the CPH pattern but as I am fairly new to knitting I wondered about the yarn I could use as obviously I can't always get hold of US yarns mentioned. Any help would be appreciated, would any Rowan yarns be ok.
    Love your blog!
    Best wishes
    Sue

  7. Thanks for the compliments and the help with CPH. Will look at the Rowan you suggested as I'm not very tolerant of itchy yarns.
    Happy Knitting!

  8. The yarn really doesn't glide over the needles like ir does on the addi needles. When I use straight needles I like the wood and that's what the denise remind me of. I am also a very tight knitter so that is some of my problem. I guess in the end waiting as long as I did for them and the excitment whooohooo...it was a let down. They are just knitting needles, nothing magical. I cast on to make a mobius , I am doing a cat bed from The second treasury of magical knitting, and it's going to be real difficult to work the yarn like that. It's just nice to have all those size needles in a little space, Helpful?

  12. Rachel the hat looks so awesome! I trusted your instincts about yellow despite my predilection for muted, boring colors, and you were spot-on. I loooove the warm, buttery hue. Gorgeous! Can't wait to wear it =)

  13. I want to thank you for your comment about my Forecast -- and tell you what a great blog you have! The butter yellow Le Slouch does look wonderful on you (and with your CPH), so I agree with Lolly that you should make yourself one.

Hi Rachel, your beret is perfect! Your beret looks smaller than wendy's how do the measurements of your beret compare to the le slouch's suggested measurements?
